If Zimmer had written the exact same music   Thursday, June 14, 2018 (8:39 p.m.)

If the name on the cover was Zimmer instead of Powell, Filmtracks would give the exact same score **. Clemmensen is a communist anti-Zimmer asshole.

Zimmer would not be able to write the Solo score like Powell did. Zimmer's not capable. It's a moot argument.

Zimmer's not capable of composing this kind of music.

And if he was it would be a sudden but commendable and more-than welcome change of pace.

I don't even understand why you are here. You know full well he doesn't like Zimmer's music and has laid out on multiple occasions why that is on composition, instrumentation, and thematic grounds. Zimmer hasn't changed, so why would the reviews? You are fully allowed to like Zimmer's music; I happen to like a lot of it too, but I get why he doesn't. What does that have to do with this non-Zimmer soundtrack, anyway?

Zimmer would not have written this exact same score. Zimmer has talent but hasn't progressed at all in the last 20 years, in fact I would argue he has regressed in skill. Never at his best even was he capable of writing a score that would be worthy of the star wars franchise and do as good or better a job than John Williams himself. Thats not to say he is a bad composer, just not that great of one. Sorry to burst your bubble but, yeah not really that sorry.
