Short Changed on the score   Friday, June 14, 2013 (12:13 p.m.)
• Now Playing: Only God Forgives by Cliff Martinez

'Into Darkness' is an entertaining piece of film music from start to finish. It is a shame the running time is incredibly short, but i'm sure we would still be moaning if it was reaching past the 70 mins mark. A talented man Giacchino is - and a true preserver of the classical score.

It is a shame he will never apply his talents to the upcoming 'Star Wars' movies, but i'm sure the influence of Williams is too much of a burden to bare...Just ask Hans!

I think a more apt comparison would be asking Ottman, not Zimmer. Zimmer outright ignored Williams' previous work.

It's a shame this soundtrack is so short. There aren't even any end titles, which was probably the most rewarding part of the movie, musically speaking. Any word from Varese Sarabande if and when a complete score will be released?

You can find the end titles on the Star Trek (2009) CD... :P
