Itīs not the best "Star Trek"-Score !!!   Friday, December 13, 2002 (2:10 a.m.)

This is a really good score! But not the best of the series! The best "Star Trek"-Score ever is "Star Trek-The Motion Picture" by the great Jerry Goldsmith. Followed by the two scores by James Horner. Cliff Eidelman did a good job, but it isnīt a masterpiece.

I beg to differ. I understand you must be a Goldsmith fan, therefor it is on your blood to say that Star Trek VI is not the best, but you must look deeper into this score. It is a space opera so to speak, with a pounding overture, spectacular battle music, and a very exciting finish into a great end title sequence. In my opinion, the best scores for Trek are Star Trek VI, Star Trek II, and Star Trek: First Contact, followed by Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: Nemesis, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

Hmmm, In my opinion it goes like...
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, Star Trek The Motion Picture, Star Trek First Contact, Star Trek Nemesis, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek Insurrection, Star Trek Generations, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home...Just my opinin though! But I think we can all agree that Star Trek IV was the worst...

It is totally different stylistically than the other ones, so I understand why you would say that. That said, I must comment that this is one of my favorite all-time scores (in addition to being the best Star Trek one). If only Eidelman could create more scores like this...
