Irish Song?   Tuesday, June 6, 2006 (6:12 p.m.)

What is the name of the song that the band is playing on the ship whilst Rose is standing on her toes a'la ballet? I've heard that musical phrase in a song called Salty Dog by Flogging Molly and was pleasantly surprised to hear a straight up Irish jig of it. My question is this: what is the name of the song in the score?

Correction: Gaelic Storm is the name of the band playing, not the name of the tune. They are an Irish band based out of California, and they tour a lot so you can probably see them live without too much trouble. The tunes they played in the steerage scene were "Hills of Connemara", which is on their first album, and "Drowsy Maggie" and "The Blarney Pilgrim", which are played as a medley entitled "Titanic Set" and can be found on their second and fourth albums. Check them out.
