Pah! Pah! And thrice pah! How Treasure Planet's score can be characterised as cheezy is beyond me! The score itself opens up admirably on '12 years later', a nostalgic, touching piece, which eventually becomes the theme for Silver and is heard best in 'Silver Conforts Jim' and 'Silver Bargains', and of course 'Silver Leaves', one of the most amazing 'fuzzy feeling' moments of score I've heard in a while. The undertones used by violins are very effective and the final build-up and restatement of the theme is quite capable of fairly blowing your ears away. Other than this, there's a less subtle theme, the movies' main adventure cue, used best in 'To the Spaceport', where it blasts forward with full accompaniment - it is also melded very effectively in '12 years later', 'Jim saves the Crew' and in the end of 'Silver Leaves'. So pah! Again! I know the mark for the score was good, but still, it deserves even more recognition!
