Is it just me?   Friday, June 18, 2004 (12:38 a.m.)

Is it just me or does anyone else think the troy trailer music(seen www.troymovie.com) is not distinctly on the soundtrack itself? Watching the preview I felt the music sounded great and the music is definitely based on horner's score or very similar i didn't hear it on gabriel's samples but it sounds as if mabye the music was reved up just for the trailer. After reading the following post's and horner's limitted time mabye horner created music based on his own score specifically for the preview to sell the movie and if that is true that really stinks because it was nice I really liked it then i get the soundtrack and it just didn't seem anything specifically special. I definitely know how previews use other scores but then i read recently how sometimes the composers manipulate their own scores to sell a preview and that stinks almost worst than if another piece was just used. Giving false belief we'll get well devolped nice music. But then again maybe it is in the soundtrack and i'm over reacting now i'm going to go listen to it again because it's bugging me!

I looked on this website sountrack.net and it says the music is by Muikvergnuegen so i guess it's done by someone different but i swear some clips incorporate the movie soundtrack with the trailer this is so annoying i hate that!

alright now i'm confused again i thought when i looked up trailer music on http://www.filmmusic.com/trailers/ that next to troy was this muikvergnuegen but looking that name up it looks like some production company so i don't know what the heck it is but the website says it's original trailer music. Anyway i listened to troy again and the sequence and some clips are not in the soundtrack but are similiar so it must have been designed to make the preview stand out I HATE that!
