I have never liked the Twilight books, and never will - probably because I'm a guy - and thought that the score was one of the worst things about the (terrible, even worse than the books) movie. The person who spoke before me is absolutely right - James Newton Howard would have been a perfect choice for Twilight - but then we wouldn't have gotten Defiance, would we, and that would have been a shame.
As for John Williams - forget it. Williams scores intelligent movies, which instantly rules Twilight out. I'm just glad that Hans Zimmer's studio wasn't forced upon this movie. That would have been a scarring experience for me, as I am in complete awe of Zimmer's sound (repetitive as it may be).
Finally, James Horner? Sorry, but the man's done Titanic. If you want to see a REAL romance, go for Titanic. Twilight is a few MILLION steps down from that, and if I were Horner I would find it humiliating to say the least.
