Noise! It's all just noise!

Comparing what Marianelli does with the work of John Williams is getting very close to heresy; 'V for Vendetta' has an unpleasantly familiar aftertaste, the one I got in the back of my ears after listening to the score of 'Hellboy'. It's loud. REALLY loud. And that's all there is to it, sadly enough; whatever 'orchestral complexity' this brouhaha of instruments holds is lost amid a sea of overused blasts of sound. A truly depressing effort.
