Comments about the soundtrack for Van Helsing (Alan Silvestri)

I love loud and action packed scores...

That is what brought me into film music collecting...so Van Helsing is like a dream come true. I'm not too keen on "background music" scores that rarely make a highlight appearance, and given the subject matter of Van Helsing, I would think that a movie about the Wolfman, Dracula, Vampires and the like would consists of loud brass and feverish strings compared to a harp and cello.

There can be no mistake that Silvestri's score is great, and the good news is he wasn't replaced by synthesizers like he was in Pirates of the Caribbean (that is STILL p-ing me off). This a Silvestri tour-de-force and an amazing achievement.
