Why would this music have empathy?

Clemmensen's reason for bashing Venom is as meaningless as his idiotic politics. Is anyone surprised the little Alinskyite can't handle music with an edge?? There's not supposed to be empathy in this score.

Can't understand brash music? Go snuggle with your fucking teddy bear!

The problem isn't that the music is "brash" or has "an edge." The problem is that there's no balance to it with a softer side or any music to represent the human side of Venom. Much like Jackman's theme for The Winter Soldier, the music is so fixated on the aggressive, manipulated antagonist at the center of the narrative that it fails to address anything beyond that. Christopher Young's themes for Venom in Spider-Man 3 were able to be both frightening and appealing. Much of the work in this film is just unpleasant. Well-written and creepy, but still unpleasant.
