Harmonica solos? Where?   Saturday, July 27, 2002 (3:25 p.m.)

Hi, i'm kind of new around (ti's my first comment and all..) i'm Wonder-
where in the Disc the is an harmonica playing? maybe i could not recgonize it, and if you could tell me in which track(s) it is, i'll be glad.

Thanks, Another horner fan!

By the way, the CD was pretty avarage- i bought it in the same day i bought
"mighty joe young"- and what a differnce! (althogh they both sound like "legends of the fall")

If they're on the CD, it's the last track, with Indian flutes performing the theme.

Hope I Helped!

Pawel

PERHAPS THE SOLOIST WAS CREDITED FOR THE ENTIRE SCORE'S PERFORMANCE,
BUT THE CUES THAT FEATURED THEM WERE NOT INCLUDED ON THE ALBUM RELEASE.

JUST A GUESS,THOUGH. I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM, BUT IT COMES OUT ON DVD
ON OCTOBER 15,SO THAT'S NOT TOO FAR TO WAIT.

The solos are heard all over the score, they sound like the burdon notes of bagpipes, listen to track four, before the theme is heard.

IF YOU MEAN THAT DEEP WATERY DRILLING SOUND, THEN THAT'S
A BIT OF A SURPRISE.
I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF 'TAKING THE BEACH HEAD,
ESPECIALLY THE RHYTHMIC, ACTION-DRIVEN STRINGS AND
POUNDING DRUMS.IT JUST SOUNDS SO COOL TO ME!

JAMES HORNER'S NEXT SCORE IS "THE FOUR FEATHERS",
IN STORES SEPTEMBER 17, WITH THE FILM OPENING SEPTEMBER 20.

I prefer A Sacrifice Never Forgotten, although I like Taking the Beachhead very much, especially with snare and trumpet fanfares! That's expressive

What the film is about? Who directed it?

Pawel

THE FILM WAS MADE TWICE BEFORE, IN 1929 AND 1939.
MAYBE YOUR LOCAL VIDEO STORE HAS IT ?

THIS NEW FILM WAS DIRECTED BY INDIAN DIRECTOR
SHEKAR KAPUR,WHO MADE THE 1998 BRITISH PERIOD DRAMA
'ELIZABETH' WHICH CO-STARRED JOSEPH FIENNES
(ENEMY AT THE GATES)
