Filmtracks On Cue

Information about On Cue:

Filmtracks "On Cue" is the centerpiece of the Filmtracks.com home page. Created on the eve of Filmtracks' fourth anniversary on the web, On Cue is a feature with which soundtrack enthusiasts can quickly and reliably read about what's new in the film music world, as well as this site. Included in On Cue are capsule reviews of score albums, updates about the newest donated reviews, links to the hottest new topics at the ScoreBoard Forum, selected and insightful feedback from soundtrack enthusiasts, and news and announcements in our genre of the music industry. Updates to On Cue will occur at any time of any day --perhaps three times one day, but none the next day-- so keep checking back for new additions. Archives of older On Cue material can be found in the directory at the bottom of this page. The icons to left of each On Cue listing will indicate which of kind of information it contains:

Capsule Reviews -- Filmtracks receives many more albums than its webmaster can review in full (i.e. provide a page of its own with artwork, listings, etc...). Therefore, On Cue is the place where capsule reviews of certain albums will appear. These reviews, usually a paragraph in length, contain some information about the release, a quick recommendation by the webmaster, and the usual Filmtracks one to five star rating. On some occasions, albums which receive a capsule review in On Cue will eventually be reviewed in full on a title page of its own, given time. These short reviews don't add to the total "number of CDs reviewed at Filmtracks" as listed on the home page; this number refers only to full reviews on separate pages of their own.

News and Announcements -- If there's hot news coming out of the film music world, you can read about it at On Cue. Updates about composer assignments to future films and the status of upcoming score album releases are highlights of the news. Also included are announcements from other film music websites, as well as those from the Filmtracks webmaster. Everything miscellaneous fits into this category --if we receive a bit of news from the industry, it gets passed on to you right away.

Hot ScoreBoard Forum Topics -- Regulars of the ScoreBoard Forum at Filmtracks know that hot topics can sometimes lead to lengthy, involved discussion about composers, albums, concerts, genres of film music, and sometimes even the nature of life. To help throw some gasoline on the fiery debate, a few of the best and most interesting forum threads are linked from On Cue. If there's a hot topic in currently in the forum, you'll know about it from the moment you arrive at Filmtracks.

Selected Visitor Feedback -- Filmtracks often receives tips about special deals on album releases or information about interesting offerings on the secondary market . If you have knowledge of such things and e-mail to Filmtracks, you can suggest that it be included in On Cue. Also to be published will be selected feedback about opinions of film music or experiences from film music events such as concerts. Unlike other film score sites, Filmtracks won't publish such feedback in mass, but you can expect to read some of the best that is e-mailed to us.

New Donated Reviews -- Filmtracks receives many donated reviews from regular visitors who would like to see coverage of their favorite albums, or present a differing opinion on those that are already reviewed at Filmtracks. To inform this site's visitors of new donated reviews, excerpts of those reviews will be provided in On Cue, with a link to the review in full. For more information about how to donate reviews to Filmtracks, read here.
