
Chiller (1989) Perhaps the weakest of the Kunzel releases in this
tribute, this CD doesn't completely work simply because it isn't scary.
There are a few tracks that are "sarcastically scary," so the CD stumbles
in its lighter points. There are also quite a few recent horror themes
that could have been used (Jaws, The Omen, etc...) but
instead we get an odd mixture of symphony pieces and Hitchcocks. The
brightest moment on this CD is the opening sound effects sequence, in
which the thunder is strong enough to damage many smaller speakers
(awesome!) ***
