Kunzel/Cincinnati Pops Sound Effects
Many of the Kunzel/Cincinnati Pops releases contain sound effects that
were generated using their own technology. The digital sound effects that
appear on these albums are produced at high levels with infrasonic
frequencies to 5Hz (in other words: if you play them too loudly, they'll
not only destroy your speakers, but also shatter the fine china in your
neighbor's dining room...).
The recording engineers at Telarc use Spacializer technology,
which creates a 3-D atmosphere for systems with only two speakers.
Multitudes of computers were combined to produce 20-bit surround effects.
Michael Biship is Telarc's mastermind behind many of the effects. Some of
the effects were shot on location outside the studio (mostly the western
effects). Others were made on-location at NASA's Lewis Research Center in
Mountain View, CA. It is Telarc's on-going mission to produce better
sound effects, as well as better overall CD sound quality.
Here is a list of all sound effects that appear on Kunzel/Telarc
