Round-Up (1986) There are many highlights to this CD: The selection of represented scores is good, Frankie Laine does numerous vocals, and the sound effects are loads of fun. Bernstein's The Magnificent Seven and Tiomkin's Gunfight at the OK Corral are most memorable. The Men of the May Festival Chorus performs in many of the tracks. ****

Happy Trails (Round-Up II) (1989) Although not as solid as Kunzel's first western music collection, this CD offers a wider variety of selections than the first. Along with the regular orchestral tracks are performances by Gene Autry, Sherrill Milnes, Roy Rogers, and the Male Chorus of the US Air Force Singing Sergeants. I recommend this CD especially to Dimitri Tiomkin fans, with performances from multiple Tiomkin scores. ***
