 After seven years of friendship, frustrations, frisbees, and freeways, Stella and Christian will be getting married on December 28, 2002 at the home they share in Missoula, Montana. They met at The University of Montana - Davidson Honors College's freshman orientation in the Lubrecht Experimental Forest just north of Missoula on August 27, 1994. Stella was a native of Western Montana and Christian was a San Francisco, California transplant experiencing snowy living for the first time. They studied and worked together at The University of Montana for three years. Christian then did his graduate work in Seattle, Washington and Stella did the same in Denver, Colorado. After four years of studying apart from each other, they settled together once again in Missoula, Montana. Christian proposed to Stella on July 26, 2002 on a boat in the middle of Flathead Lake under the view of the Mission Mountains that Stella had grown to love as a youth at the lake. With both their families residing in the greater Missoula area, they plan to reside and raise a family nearby. |
