No they are just listening John Williams. Please overlook this and listen your favourite. Never mind what are they saying.

OK. Um, obviously, the scene in the battle is an action scene, and the Rock is an action movie. However, Hummel Get's the Rockets was not even scored by Zimmer. The majority of that track was composed by Nick Glennie-Smith, which is obvious if you know his work. The themes in Gladiator and the Rock are of a similar style due to the genre, but are completely original. Zimmer's theme from the Lion King and Black Rain are both used in his score for the tv mini-series Millennium, but he is not one who repeats themes. The only way you coukd confuse Gladiator and the Rock is, yes, if you are tone deaf.

I have one question for all those in this ridiculous thread: why are you discussing the similarities of HANS ZIMMER's scores????? In case you haven't noticed yet, this review page is about A.I. by John Williams.

Of course those are the only Zimmer scores you need to listen to - it's all the same!

I completly agree with you guys. (i know i'm late a bit) Hans is the most varied composer in the world. The proofs are: As Good As It Gets, Thin Red Line, Prince Of Egypt, Hannibal, An Everlasting Peace. Congratulations Mr. Zimmer, Mr. Williams is good, but ALWAYS the same.
Btw. The Rock was composed by Nick Glennie Smith (mostly), the maistro only composed two themes for the movie, so much for copy. Hans's music changes my life, thank you.

Hey people, stop calling names!! I think Mario is totally right. Zimmer did make good use of the copy-paste function on his computer...

...and hear there's a clear difference between them. How many times did you listen to JFK and Nixon!? Nixon is far more darker in orchestration. Moreover, those scores deal about the same subjects! How can a composer compose the same music for a movie about a great Roman hero as for a shooting/hostage/action thriller!? It doesn't show a lot of talent. And at least Williams did not "copy-paste" since he doesn't use a computer! (and it's "weakest link" not "weakest chain".)

What is same music for you? If I say same music, it means that when I hear the music for first time, I say: Hey it is the same from the first minute. If you say that the mane theme is tha same, well I listend both album and I can only say that it has patriotism, and both is good theme. Maybe you think because I'm a Zimmer fan and "yes he says it because he likes his music". Well it is true, but I also like other composers as well as Williams. When I wrote that JFK and Nixon is the same, I wrote it because in the film JFK, when Kevin Costner's character tells his story at the court, you can also hear this kind of music in Nixon. As for the theme for JFK, it is the "same" as The Patriot. Patriotism, about the american flag etc... As for the last one, it is one of my friend oppinion.
