Tyler's lengthy albums |

"Tyler reportedly supports these immense albums featuring his scores, and while it is indeed great to be able to hear so much of what was recorded in each instance, many such works translate into superior 45-minute presentations."
Christian, I think Tyler often deliberately structures his lengthy albums to offer the best of both worlds: a good listening experience up front, and then as much of what's left as will fit on a CD afterward for those who want every scrap of music.

So is that how it is? We need special instructions on how to listen to his soundtracks?
With the quality of his music aside, the length of his album have always killed the experience for me, AVP-R is a primary example. I can barely sit through the first half of this without becoming ear fatigued. These lengthly albums also expose a certain level of repetivness shared with other scores he's done.
I am really surprised Christian gave this 4-Stars! He must have really been in the need to blow of some steam. For me stitting through this album is a serious excercise of patience and my auditory senses. I couldn't possibly recommend it with that high of regards.
