Christian, I disagree. Goldsmith writes two kinds of scores: thematic ones, and textural ones. His orchestrations here are subtly top-form - what you'd expect from a veteran composer. I'll take mundane Goldsmith over mundane James Horner any day, and this score is already galactically more interesting than U.S. Marshals or Outland. Not his best, nor his most dull, but exquisitely typical.
