Russian lyrics in "Prologue" |

Does anyone know the lyrics the choir is singing near the end of "Prologue"? I'm pretty sure it's in Russian.

I'm curious about this myself. For some reason, it seems as if I have heard the strain they are singing before, as if it was a national anthem. However, the Soviet Union's National Anthem did not include that particular strain so I'm stumped!

I don't necesarily think that it was taken from something since the album credits Lev Volod for Russian choral translations. I think it is perfectly sincible that David Newman composed lyrics and had them translated into Russian. My question is, what are the words being sung?

are there existing lyrics for that song written out anywhere? I tried subtitles on the movie and that didn't work. I also tried looking it up online but I can't find them anywhere. my boyfriend has a book with the music from Anastasia, but I'm not sure if it's even in there.

According to Aaron Ahles (on a YouTube comment):
"The tune that starts around 4:54 is from Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Russian Easter Festival Overture' which in and of itself is taken from the traditional Russian Orthodox chant "Let God Rise"
