Youīre surely right with your opinion about the themes. But you should also keep in mind that in AotC every character/organisation already has his own theme, so there was no need for Williams to make any new besides Across the Stars.
I donīt think we can already tell if the score has character or not, because we havenīt heard it in the film (and I really hated TPM before having seen the film, now I think its a good score though only an average Star Wars) and we havenīt as well heard the whole score. There are at least 50 minutes missing on the album, and as far as Iīve heard the last track is an edited version (I donīt know if the source can be trusted, but it sounds logical to me).
So before judging Williams and AotC, we should wait until May, 16th, then weīll know more!
