Williams has always composed very solid and intelligent music. He has the ability to find a voice that perfectly reflects the dramatic structure of the film. No wonder the score to AOTC lacks a sense of direction and structure. The film itself, although more entertaining than the first one, suffers from these problems. Listening to the music, I had the impression Williamsís acute sensibility to story telling was in a constant struggle to give some sense to the endless cavalcade of special effects and pointless scenes that paraded on the screen in front of him. Itís sad, I love Star Wars, but the new film lacks focus, so does the music.
