Snapping sound on E.T. soundtrack   Thursday, August 1, 2002 (5:09 a.m.)

I know that this officially isn't the right place for my question, but the E.T. soundtrack page doesn't seem to be attended very often. My question is: I just bought the re-release of the E.T. soudtrack and discovered a snapping sound in the track "The Magic of Halloween" at 2:38. I am almost sure there's no damaging of the cd surface. I wondered, do you also have this little but annoying disturbance on your cd??

I was curious to check out so I put my headphones on so I can hear it better and no I hear no snapping noise, but you no what is kind of cool is sometimes at when a solo instrument is playing you can hear the performer inhaling to blow in his instrument, kind of like a hhuuuhhh.

Hmm, then there must be something wrong with my cd, I think I'm going to ask for a new one... Thanks for checking out. Yeah, that's cool isn't it? You can also hear sometimes the cellists putting their fingers on the strings!

The recording quality of E.T. is amazing. Probably the best I've ever heard. Lots of digitally recorded scores like Minority Report does not offer that kind of natural sound and mix. E.T. score still
rules in any point of view.

You're right, Phantom Menace for example but also Harry Potter and Jurassic Park sound very synthetically, too smoothly.

Well, I got this snapping sound on my CD as well! Have you already got a new one now, that lacks this sound?

Hi!
Yes, I got a new one but it has the snapping sound just like the old one. I think it is a little fault in the recording or the production of the cd...
