This soundtrack is the only one necessary for you from all Babylon5 soundtracks if you just want an example of the Babylon5 Series music. This album is very user-friendly:you can find all types of tracks here from menacing,horror-style music through love theme to action music. The first track(Babylon5 Series 1st Season - Main Title) is a relaxing track with strings and electronic sounds, guitars and brasses, and even some drums and percussion.Messages From Earth starts with menacing music:a menacing choir from the episode Z' Ha' Dum,this motif is followed by the battle music from the 3rd season, then ends with a wonderful unity of men and women choir, electronic music, percussion and symphonic music(similar to the orchestral solutions used by Vangelis). The Babylon5 Main Title for 2nd Season has the wonderful unity of percussion, electronic and symphonic music.Z' Ha' Dum contains the entire music from the episode the Long Twilight Struggle,it illustrates the brooding terror as the Centauri warships drop nuclear weapons to the Narn Homeworld, and the Narns destroyed by the Centauri and the Shadows. This track starts with action music,in the middle section you can find a piano and harp music with some flute and trumphet music, then the track ends with the same theme that can be heard during its opening. The Babylon5 Series Main Title 3rd Season contains a menacing choir, percussion, guitars, brasses and strings. The Babylon5 4th Season Main Title uses the same orchestral solutions as the Main Title From 3rd Season.Severed Dreams is similar to the orchestral solutions of Messages From Earth, but this time a love theme for Sheridan and Delenn is also part of it.Voices Of Authority is my favourite track:it starts up with the main title from the 5th Season, with the unity of percussion, symphonic and electronic music, then followed by cues from the Voices Of Authority and A Late Delivery From Avalon episodes, and ends with the same motif that can be heard during its beginning. The speciality of this album is that some tracks, namely the Messages From Earth and the Voices Of Authortiy are using birdcalls. To put it in a nutshell, this soundtrack is a faith of buy,and if you fed up with usual orchestral solutions, and wants to hear something unusual, then it is even more necessary for you.
