Oh, I had always thought this was the part when they were sitting down at the campfire and Bruce tells Ducard about how he (Ducard) doesn't understand him. Ducard then goes on explaining how he lost his wife and how it made him feel (which was pretty on point to what Bruce seemed to feel).

That's the scene I thought it was tied to.
