I have to say right away, that I DON'T have the soundtrack for the mini-series. I do however own the scores for Season One and Two and I love the show (and the mini-series)very much so I am biased. I know that the re-imagined Galactica has as many fans as haters (even in my own circle of friends) and the same goes for the musical approach. I really love the approach by Bear McCreary and Richard Gibbs to use percussive ellements for the action. It is unique and refreshingly new to the usual approach and I really do not mind new ideas.

I'm definitely in the "love it" camp. However, I do agree that the mini-series and season 1 albums can be challenging to enjoy for more casual listeners. Seasons 2 - 4 albums, however, are masterpieces.
