I am a white American from Wisconsin. I don't like the rap song soundtrack for Black Panther and thought those songs in the film were distracting. The African film score also irritates me greatly. Am I a music-racist?

Posting an awfully late response, but I think it's a little more nuanced than that. Most people's music tastes are heavily defined by what they discover and take a liking to in their teens and 20s. After that, your preferences start to calcify and you become more resistant to unfamiliar types of music. I don't know how old you are, but I'd guess that if you aren't particularly familiar with hip hop/rap or with African music, that lack of familiarity probably is what caused your discomfort with the score and songs in Black Panther.
So I'd say that your distaste for the music is something that stemmed from the music you've been exposed to in the past. If you don't like the music, that's fine. If you're unable to acknowledge the quality of the composition and the approaches Goransson took in writing this score and how it serves the film and think it's a bad score BECAUSE you don't like the hi-hop, etc., then yeah, you're "music-racist."
