I read the reason cue be different in film is that it was re-edited. Mel Gibson asked James Horner to compose again this cue but Gibson with the the sound music supervisor noted the original "For the Love of a Princess" could be well suited in the movie by editing it. I don't believe it was just re-edited, I think James Horner composed another cue and Gibson really used it.
