As Fun As Antz, But Too Dramatic

Antz is a score that you listen to just to hear some wild wacky music. It was a landmark for the type of movie that Antz was. Now Powell and Gregson-Williams have unleashed a similiar score for Chicken Run. It's a five star score that is just as fun as Antz. The main theme is weird but enjoyable. Mrs. Tweedy theme is a knock out for the classic cartoon bad guy. The perfromace of the theme at the beginning of track twenty is astounding. But this score falls short of Antz for one reason. It's too dramatic. There are bits of this score that are just too dark (you're probably asking yourself if I've listen to the same score) and at times sad. Tracks like UP ON THE ROOF and ROCKy, A FAKE ALL ALONG are just to dramtic for what I expected.
To make my self more clear, the score is a little less wacky and more like THE LION KING than I would have liked for a score on chicken who build an airplain!
