Would've agreed when I first got it, but now. . .

Now that I've given this score a few listens, it really does become more enjoyable every time it runs through my CD player. The main theme is hauntingly surreal, and the suspenseful underscore plays on the mood of the film perfectly and is actually a strangely enticing suspense/drama score. It broods and broods and broods. . . and that's part of what attracts me to it. It's certainly little more than a ***1/2 effort at best, and probably closer to *** in all actuality, but for the type of film Armstrong had to score, he pulled off the musical job extraordinarily well and this serves as one of this year's more interesting and unique film score entries.
