Cleopatra vs. Gladiator   Monday, April 2, 2001 (8:10 a.m.)

At first, many thanks to Varese for releasing such good CD's in the last months. I hope, that they will continue releasing remastered or re-recorded scores from the past.
When I first listened to the Main Titles (Track 2) of Cleopatra, I immediately recognized a similarity between the love theme and the theme, Hans Zimmer composed for Maximus in Gladiator. Do I have a problem with my ears or has anyone else recognized these similarities?

You are right, I have heard the same tune as well!!!

And I would also add a comment, this soundtrack is much better than the old LP version that my dad own when I was around 6 or 7 years old, I really hope all the old masterpieces can be reissue, since the technology right now is much faster and easier to remaster the old analog recording!!!

By the way, how come I can't find the review of "Lawerence of Arabia", I do remember seeming a remaster cd before, does any one know???
