Gabriel Yared as composer for "Troy"

Being something of a sountrack buff (as most here are) I like to do a little research on movies that will be coming out soon and who is doing the soundtracks for them. I noticed today that Gabriel Yared is signed on the do the soundtrack for the movie "Troy" (Warner Bros., out in May 2004). I havn't been overly impressed with his material one way or the other in any of his projects, be they "Cold Mountain," "The English Patient" or anything else. Not that I dislike him as a composer, per se, as I don't think his work detracts from any of the movies he has done, yet it doesn't add much, either.

I'm wondering what others think about this, and if anyone has good examples of some of his "battle" music, since that will probably be what makes up most of this movie.
