Love affair with John Williams

I understand that filmtracks has a sort of love affair with John Williams, but I really have to wonder about the brilliance of the "themes" for his movies, which seem to be propelled to great heights because of the success of the films they are in. Otherwise, the themes to "Star Wars", "Superman" and "Indiana Jones" all seem interchangeable.
