Comments about the soundtrack for The Da Vinci Code (Hans Zimmer)

Great soundtrack, poorly used

I love how many motifs there are in this score, reminding me of Zimmer's similarly "dense" scores for The Rock and The Lion King, each of which had over a dozen themes recurring in interesting variations.

In the film, I found it frustrating how some of the main themes for Da Vinci are only used once, meaning they don't distinguish themselves to audience members outside the context of the stand-alone album.

Oh well. Also...how bad-ass is that opening track of Angels & Demons? Love it.
