Why defend this mediocre score?

This review has legitimate arguments that criticize the weakness of the score, yet many people here rush to defend the music. Why? They thought it sounded cool! Or they think the reviewer is being to hard on Mr. Zimmer. One comment suggests that all score reviews should focus on the good of the scores and not mention the bad. Why? That defeats the purpose of a review.

For some reason many people here like to settle for the mediocre. Mr. Zimmer doesn't need your sympathy, he's a high paid professional and is expected to deliver a high quality score. Maybe he needs a few bad reviews so he will realize his faults and get his act together. What's the worse that can happen, he writes a better score next time?
