Although composed back in 1984,2010 - The Year We Made Contact is still a great experience to anyone who took time to search for it.It is because that it has the wonderful unity of percussion, symphonic music(strings and brasses) and electronic sounds. One might suspect reading my previous statement that if this guy using this orchestral solutions, his music might resembele to Hans Zimmer' s.Here I will make a statement:his music is far better than any of Hans Zimmer' s music which is either too colourful and complex or too simple and bold, but never perfect(with the exception of Gladiator and The Da Vinci Code, and The Rock comes near the definition of perfect music). This guy uses enough interesting motifs and orchestral solutions to maintain the interest of the listener. If you like early Star Trek scores (The Motion Picture,The Wrath Of Khan and The Search For Spock) you might like this one as well.
