Comments about the soundtrack for Domestic Disturbance (Mark Mancina)

Jerry Goldsmith was the original composer on this project. Unfortunately, his appendix blew up, and he was subsequently hospitalised, and therefore unable to complete the score. However, I believe he had already done some work on the score. Perhaps Mark Mancina wanted to honour Goldsmith by using some of his material. Given that Goldsmith composed the score for Basic Instinct, the similarities in the theme between that movie and the one for Domestic Disturbance could be explained if Mancina did in fact use some of the material Goldsmith had composed before his health rendered him unable to continue with the project, even if it was reorchestrated to incorporate some different instruments.
