They are most certainly not. Powell has posted recording session footage on his social media, for those taking notes. As a bonus, you can check out the score for the only cue where they really have a role to play on his channel too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXs_OgB6IrA

Also, we sure those album credits in the upper left should say 2002 and 2003? :p

Then that raises the question of why those brass players aren't included in the credits.
