You should expand on your reasoning, but I do agree with your final judgement. This is a much better score than the rating is currently given at Filmtracks. I thought it was very reminiscent of Halo's scores ambiance and it was about a string overlay away from being the first Transformers score to a tee, but the difference between Drive and TGWTDT from Trent Reznor is that Cliff Martinez understands scoring the film rather than just lathering his music all over the picture with no rhyme or reason. Everything about The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo score oozes vanity from the price, to the packaging, to the album presentation. Drive is a very good ambient score and I'm surprised I liked it more than I thought I actually would, but I would rather stick up for this as an example of exemplary scoring with synth than TGWTDT
