I agree. The Director really is responsible for the misfire as he did not want themes and just wanted to pile on the drums. You needed thematic identities to juxapose the celestial and terrestial realms, and you needed a love theme - a ray of hope in the desolation. I would like to see what Amon can do when he is not so constrained.

You can find a number of Cues Amon wrote for Trailers at youtube. Perhaps those point into the direction he might take when working with a less overbearing Director.

At the very least "Elysium" convinced me that he is technically accomplished and has a knack for intersting Vocal/Intrumental Textures.
