Even as a one-time Rabin apologist... |

... this is a sad effort. Not a lot of good action (some decent stuff from the Zavitz chase didn't make the album) scattershot thematic material, long stretches of boredom (particularly disgraceful for a track entitled "Final confrontation) and no finale or closure.
Some good moments but not even worth it for fans of the likes of Face/Off

Well, I'm still a Rabin apologist, but I definitely concede that this is one of his weakest scores. The action music is definitely a lot more disorganized than his later scores, where he has shown a lot of growth as an (orchestral) artist.
