Well, this score is really inspiring. I have never heard or owned any of Powells previous works but this score really raised my one eyebrow! I dont really know what Clemmensen was looking after, since he basiclly narrowed this score down (Politely). Basically he his saying that this score lacks a theme. I can understand that since i am also grown to listen soundtracks with at least 1 memmorable theme. For my personal judgement i also need a score with at least one(1) theme on it. I think scores that lacks themes is usually just plain background music. This score has a powerful & joyful theme(s). I think the "Firetruck" theme can be considered as the main theme for this score eventough it rarely appears in the earlier cues of the score. The track "The Mall Chase" is also intelligent writting! And fast! (I really would like to see moving footage of Greenaway while he was conducting this one!)Well, i can say lots of positive things about this one, and this Powell work has made it into my score collection and it wont be the last! Dont stop the music Powell! Keep em' commin'!
