... Unlike Costner, composer James Horner has never been a baseball fan. But when he first saw a cut of Field of Dreams, he fell in love with the film and jumped at the assignment despite his lack of knowledge about the sport...
James Horner had already stated in his interview that he doesn't know anything about baseball. But he also said that the "actual story" of this film is not about baseball, it is about the relationship between Costner's character and his father. Baseball is just a way to reconnect Costner's character with his father's spirit. This is a much deeper film than some stupid sport comedy like "Mr. 3000".
Christian Clemmensen does not understand this film in the first place. His mental model of the theme to "The Field of Dreams" is all about baseball and the great Shoeless Joe. It is not! He is wrong. If Christian uses the correct perspective to see the intended messege of this film, this score is definitely 5/5. I would have to say that James Horner had nailed this score.
THE FIELD OF DREAMS is a 5-star soundtrack in my book.

Um, dude, whether Horner stays true to the film's message or not, no one can disguise the fact that Glory was far superior in every which way.
