I am happy for him   Monday, January 20, 2003 (12:56 a.m.)

I just read that Goldenthal won the Golden Globe. That´s the best news since 1998, when Horner won for "Titanic". My first Goldenthal-Album was "Alien 3", in my opinion his best score. I also love his work for "Interview with the Vampire", "Batman Forever", "Michael Collins", "Sphere" and "Final Fantasy". Now i really hope he will get his first Academy Award in march !!! In the last five years only two composers deserved this trophy: James Horner and Howard Shore.

It is good to see Goldenthal getting some awards and recognition for his hard work. Too many times has he been brushed aside and forgotten (Final Fantasy, Batman Forever, Michael Collins were all superb, but where was his recognition for them?). Congratulations.

I do agree that "Interview With the Vampire", "Batman Forever", and "Final Fantasy" were outstanding scores, but I must disagree on "Alien 3". The score for that movie was just as bad as that film! "Heat" was also good.
