Clemmensen can't praise Goldenthal without firing one last, parting insult at him   Wednesday, December 11, 2002 (4:11 p.m.)

Clemmensen (Filmtracks writer) says of the Frida liner in the "Notes" section of the review:

"...including a lengthy note from Goldenthal, lyrics to the songs, detailed credits, and a picture of Goldenthal with Julie Taymor. It shouldn't be surprising to note that while Taymor looks animated and lively, our friend Elliot appears to be staring menacingly off into oblivion, as per usual."

Can't this Clemmensen guy ever write a decent comment about anything Goldenthal does without finding some ludicrous way to continue insulting the man?

It is a completely unnecessary comment.

It's not an insult. It's just a fact, and there's nothing wrong with poking fun at somebody that usually DOES stare off into oblivion (in the pics that I've seen, that is). Mr. Clem's prob w/ Goldenthal is his musical style, usually his unique way to make an orchestra put out a whole lot of noise.

Me too   Wednesday, April 30, 2003 (3:16 p.m.)

he's right, it's not an insult, merely an observation and it is completely within Goldenthal's character. It's fun! Like saying Al Pacino looked evil on the inside of the Devil's Advocate Soundtrack.

I thought it was kinda a funny comment, I think Elliot is just too much fun to tease b/c he is so serious! lol who could hate the man?
