I agree 100% with your review. My own rating for this score is *** 1/2, which falls neatly in between your split ratings. It's a score to appreciate more than enjoy, with tons of interesting musical ideas and orchestrations but a definite lack of heart. In short, the way I feel about almost all of Desplat's work. This is my favorite score of his from 2010, though, and this is a genre in which I feel Desplat's style is most at home - and not epic fantasies.
