Great Score...what a surprise!

Wow...this is such a good score. When I heard Frizzel was composing, I was nonplussed, as the only scores of his I have heard are Alien Resurrection and Dante's Peak, both of which were pretty mediocre. This score is amazing. The themes are so beautiful and haunting and fit the tone of the film perfectly (I am guessing as I haven't seen it yet). I can't believe this is the same person who wrote the bland scores I have mentioned above. All I can say is that he grabbed the chance at a good score and really made the most of it, one of the best scores I have heard in years. And to think after Two Towers I was afraid there would be no good scores until Return of the King in November/December. Here's to the suprise scores that pop up out of nowhere. BTW - the two songs are pretty good, especially the "Going Home" song, and I usually just skip the songs on soundtrack albums.
