Piano Piece that Hannibal Plays   Tuesday, April 24, 2001 (2:04 p.m.)

Does anyone know the piece that Hannibal (Anthony Hopkins) plays on the piano during the movie? He plays the song when he is still in Itlay living at the massive building and doing his research. What is the piece called? and where can I find it? If anyone knows please email me, or just leave a note here on this site. Thank you.

The pice that Hannibal plays in the movie is called "The Goldberg Variations" and is written by J.S. Bach. Actually it is a very often recorded work by Bach so it shouldn´t be that difficult to find it. I recommend the recording with Glenn Gould.

Piano Music   Tuesday, August 21, 2001 (8:51 p.m.)

Anyone know which track (if any) includes the piano music played in the movie when the guy (can't remember his name) is following Hannibal across the streets. Specifically, Hannibal wipes down his glass with a handkerchief after he drinks out of it. Anyone know?

Actually, Hanz Zimmer composed that track as well as the majority of all the other music excluding the Goldberg Variations track and the opera sequence. Unfortunately, that piece is not on the soundtrack though.

Aria da capo, from Bach's The Goldberg Variations. You can get an album of it from places like Barnes and Noble, get the Glenn Gould version though. Its Hannibal's favorite. My album of it also includes pieces heard in Silence of the Lambs and buring the dinner scene that is not on the soundtrack.
