Religious symbolism is present in all scenes regarding Dante's "DIvine Comedy". If you've got the score (grat isn't it?) listen to Hopkins in track 9. All symbolism is present there.

Also Mason Verger is very religious. Read track titles too (Avarice, Virtue)
