Beautiful music, damned movie   Monday, March 5, 2001 (11:48 p.m.)

Honest, many out there don't give a NOTHING (certain words not allowed) about the story or the movie, & myself among them. Hopkins is a greatest performer, a sir, an' all that stuff. But God, whose idea was it to RUIN (again some words rejected) the soundtrack release with these bloody dialogues that if desired can be listened to at any time (obviously if you want to flush your quids away, i mean, buy the dvd-vhs tape or whatever). The movie sucks. I mean, I just don't care, i couldn't carelessly care less about the hannibal business (in the all & multiple senses of the word). The soundtrack CD is worth the $, however. Although it could have been better. Spoiled, but go and buy it. It is not organic, it sort of ... I mean the music is great ... those dialogues spoilong the score ... there's something funny ... go and buy it anyhow. WHAT ABOUT A COMPOSER'S CUT??

I am pissed off. The score is a precious piece of beautiful and inspired music, being zimmer or any of the others, not to mention vide cor meum . Good points to cassidy for expanding on this moving beautiful oratorio-like excerpt. I have come across critics against cassidy for "the simplicity in the structure of vide cor meum", "poor imitation of what an opera is", etc. Idiots and ignorants. It is you that deserve a brain "rayliottation" by your beloved hannibal.

Money is money, business is business, but a decent hannibal sountrack release could have been a good opportunity to dignify a stupid script and absurdest movie, and make of it only if just a standard-q movie on the whole. Being named Hannibal, Red Riding Hood or XXX, the Cd should have been a full 74' or even 2-CDed music-only release, making up for a classical long-to-last creation.

I forgot to mention: cassidy, please, make your best for your hopefully-sson-to-come opera to be kept away from Andrea Bocelli. No prejudices, but he is no more than another Albano-&-Romina-sort-of, a-little-better-than-standard-as-the-rest-of-the-mortals half-talented italian operatic performer. It would not make your work any good as regards prestige (no need to speak about sales, as it will sell no matter what).

Hi there,

It is not a question of getting the meanings or not. Yes, I saw the silence of the lambs, and it works: the cast, the script, the director. Yop, it works. Now, fullstop.

About the sequel, who gives a shit, I repeat? I could not care less. On the one hand, once I came across a piece of superb music, and that's vide cor meum. On the other hand, once I went to the movies (Hannibal) and it just turned out to be a stupid sort of a pretended gothic-horror story. That's all. If you like the movie, it is your problem. And if you don't like my attitude, too bad for you.
